We love a good pun, and this coach gift is no exception. Round up some EXTREMELY sour candy (in this case, we used Extreme Warheads Candy) and put together this sweet (and sour) DIY coach gift. Get our free printable gift tag below for the perfect final touch.
DIY Coach Gifts
If you are looking for a fun and easy candy themed coach gift, you are in the right place! We typically hand out gifts to the kids’ coaches at Christmas and at the end of the sports season. Over the years, we have had an array of coaches to thank!
Between the two of them, my kids enjoy horseback riding, baseball, dance, ice hockey and track. They have had so many wonderful coaches… people who have taught them skills and mentored them in technique and good sportsmanship.
I love the picture below of my daughter watching the jumpers before her and getting last minute tips on how to ride the course from her coach.
I am always on the lookout for fun gift ideas. Many of the gifts that we give are “punny” and incorporate funny sayings or taglines.
You can also add a gift card to a candy gift if you are looking to up the value.
Sound Candy Gift Idea
We found some Extreme Sour Warheads candy at the store last week. They were so bright and colorful, I knew they would look great in a jar for a gift. I used the “Extreme” Sour theme for the tagline: “You are an EXTREMELY AWESOME Coach!”
This gift comes together in just a few minutes.

How to Assemble the Gift
1. Print and cut out the gift tags. (We recommend printing the tags on white cardstock to make them a bit sturdier than printer paper.)
2. If you’d like, you can write the recipients name in the space on the bottom of the front of the tag. Also, your child can sign his/her name on the back of the tag.
3. Punch a single hole in the top left corner of the tag.
4. Fill the jar with candy and place lid on the jar.
5. Use twine or ribbon to tie the tag to the jar.
That’s it!
